The sun is shining, there’s a warm breeze, the grills are fired up with sizzling steaks, burgers, and hot dogs… Its official folks, summer is finally here!!!
The obvious kickoff of summer is Memorial Day weekend, when the dust is wiped off the grills and the white pants and shoes are taken out of the back of the closet. Seriously folks, thank goodness for warm weather. After the nasty weather that NY went thru this winter, its time New Yorkers got a treat!
On this gorgeous Monday off, I spent my day picnicking in Liberty State Park with my hubby, family, and friends. Without a doubt, an abundance of food was present: fruit, snacks, indian style sandwiches, puri aaloo, turkey burgers, sausages, and hot dogs. My mouth was watering… I was so excited to eat.
Coming from the great state of Texas, where the heat can get seriously intolerable, the weather in NY in the summer is just spectacular. Sure, there’s a couple of weeks of ridic hellish like heat but I’d honestly rather have that than several feet of snow.
Although… I do act like a 10 year old when it snows and am itching to play it in as soon as the snow starts falling. Gosh I’m totally Malcolm in the middle – I love warm/hot weather, and I love playing in the snow!
As surprised as I am that I’m actually blogging about weather, I did have a point… I just forgot what the point was.
